About Polarity Yoga
Part of Polarity Therapy, Polarity Yoga is a series of simple exercises that stimulate and balance the energies of the body and the five elements (Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth). These principles and elements come from the Ayurvedic healing tradition.
Polarity Yoga postures bring attention to certain energy blockages in your body that can cause you to feel discomfort. These simple exercises help release and alleviate tension in all its forms, allowing your vital energy to freely flow so that you can be in harmony with yourself and your environment. By the use of movement, breath, sound, and meditation, you can work to achieve a sense of well-being of mind, body, and spirit.
Experiencing a Polarity Yoga Session
Each session focuses on a specific principle or element, and incorporates meridian stretching exercises, yoga poses, Brain Gym exercises, visualization, breathing techniques and meditation. Some of the exercises are relaxing; others, invigorating. As you move through each exercise, you are invited to go within, connect with and become aware of the energy in the body. At the end of the session, you will feel energized, more relaxed, and has a better appreciation of your body and energy.
