Traditional Chinese Medicine

Essential Principles for Life Force Discovery
and Self Recovery

Overview

From Africa to Europe to the Pacific Islands, healers have known for millennia how to direct vital life energy thorugh their hands and into those in need.  One branch of indigenous living traditions, Taosim (Chinese for the way of Nature and the Universe), is about developing and using one's personal life force or Qi to strengthen, heal and benefit oneself and others.  Perhaps in no other part of the world is this skill more refined and scientifically validated than China's 5,000 year old tradition that we now call Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).  The Chinese Medicine model presents concepts generally expressed through a three-dimensional convergence, seeing the physical body as an energetic hologram, and observing the physical, mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual reality of living tissue structures.
Program Description

In order to help the Western mind understand the concepts of Chinese Energetic Medicine, this course was developed with the goal of instructional comprehension and practical application of the basics of Chinese Energetic Medicine. It embraces the concepts of TCM, in particular Medicinal or Medical Qi Going Therapy, from a progressive linear format.  The course will introduce a theoretical overview of the 4 main branches of TCM: Acupuncture, Herbal Therapy, Chinese Massage Therapy and Medical Qi Gong Therapy.  This course will place its primary focus on Medical Qi Gong Therapy. Students will also learn about Energetic Anatomy and the 5 Element Theory as taught from the TCM model.  This will include a detailed theoretical and practical understanding of the concept of Qi (Chi) and Yin & Yang Theory.  Students will also learn the 3 major categories of Qi Gong: Self-Healing Qi Gong, External Qi Healing and Spiritual Qi Gong.  Preparation techniques will be taught that will balance out and increase the Qi of practitioners/students prior to treating clinets/patients/partners.

The 12 major merdians along with major channels or collaterals of the acupuncture circuitry will be explored in detail in this course.  The relationship between the internal organs, glands and skeletal muscles in relationship to the 5 Element Theory and the Meridian System are an integral part of this basic TCM training course.  These foundational elements prepare the student for the introduction to the 3 main methods of Qi Assessment. This course will ultimately educate individuals in holistic and preventative healthcare and prepare competent practioners/educators in the understanding, implementation, and practices of various modalities of TCM.
